Storm damage...

Sunday, April 29, 2012

We had some severe storms come through the area yesterday and the second one dumped baseball sized hail on my house! It was strange to experience, but fortunately, from the safety of my house!

There is some serious damage to my house, and the area. I am sure when all of this gets resolved there will be new roofs, siding etc. galore. For now, my husband put some tarps over the worst holes in the roof, and we will be taking lots of pictures for our insurance company. I'm waiting for an insurance adjuster to call...

I am thankful we are safe and able to stay in our house! I will be getting lots of extra cardio as I clean up the debris as it looks like a salad outside on the deck, street and lawn...many of my neighbors and friends with cars outside have smashed windshields.

Hope everyone else is doing well...sounds like we weren't the only area to get clobbered by a storm?...

Make it a super Sunday!

How many people would think about the cardio that will be required for a storm clean up? Just Spark people!

Here's hoping that the insurance payment is quick and generous.

Glad you are safe!! We had to replace our roof from a hail storm when we lived in TX in the early 80's. Thank God for home insurance!! Praying for a quick and complete cleanup and repair for all! emoticon

Oh no Sheri! So sorry to hear about your damaged house but also thankful you are all okay and able to stay there. It was a scary afternoon and night. I was caught in the first round when I was at a friend's house in O'Fallon IL. Lots of hail and scary sounds! On my way home I saw smashed out car windows and accidents on the highway. Once I got to St. Peters where I live, the tornado sirens were going off here. There was torential rain and wind but it blew through in aobut 15 min. Through the night I had heavy winds and lots more rain, and I think hail woke me up once but I didn't get up to look out. Guess I better go out and assess to make sure there's no damage. God bless you as you deal with all this!

I am glad you are ok. We only got rain and some lightining out of it. Where do you live? I know some places got tornadoes yesterday. Sounds like you will be busy for a while. Once again I am glad you and your family are ok.
