This has been a very eventful week........my (step) son's baseball season started this past Saturday. He is so very excited for this new adventure for him. We love going to the games and cheering him on!! Saturday's game they lost but on Thursday they won. My son got his first RBI (run batted in) and the smile on his face would have lit up the world. He actually got to second base but the 3rd out was gotten and his time on the field was over. He called me before the game started and told me "you should turn around, it is going to rain and there won't be a game" I replied, " I don't care about the game, I am coming to see YOU!!" My husband told me later, "YOU should have seen how his face lit up when you said that". I may be his "step" mom but I am the MOM that does ALL the MOM things, unlike his "natural" mother. She is not the warm and fuzzy kind. In fact, soon my loving "step"son will be living with us permanently. Starting this summer our future will be brighter because we will be a family 24/7/365 and not just on the weekends like in the past. We are all excited about the upcoming bright future. This weekend my hubby and I spent cleaning out the spare/junk room to make it our son's room.....it will be his personal spot in our home. It was a labor of love on our part. We also went and got a Beta Fish to add to his room, for his "pet" in our house. All of this will be a surprise when he comes next weekend. NOW I have to wait till next weekend without giving up the surprise, lol.
The BIG event that happened this week was that my hubby bought me a new vehicle so I would have a safe and reliable one. I have a Ford Expedition but she has some electrical issues that was causing her not to be so safe and I would only drive her to and from work. When I saw my son's baseball schedule and new I would have to drive 45 mins each way for his games, I wanted to cry. Knowing my vehicle was not safe meant I would not be able to go to the games, my heart sank. We decided that "MOM" needs a reliable safe vehicle. So this week we purchased a 2011 Nissan Rogue, smaller and more economical for us.
WE are becoming a FAMILY finally!!! And WE LOVE IT!!!
