Just finished reading a new book on bodyweight training, “Ultimate Physical Fitness in 5 Minutes” by Johnny Grube. His website is www.wildmantraining.com. He has a no nonsense, blunt, no holds barred approach to getting and staying fit using nothing but bodyweight exercise. He has a penchant for attacking world records in bodyweight challenges. While his newsletters often are often polemical rants his workouts are straight forward do almost anywhere, limited equipment ones.
He has a major need for a competent editor and proofreader for the book but his material is worth reading and assessing. The book has basically two parts, 13 pages of his “Epic 8” exercises with how to dos with sequence photographs and 22 pages of different workouts. There are enough workouts that you will never get bored, burned out or plateau. When you try one of them you will think you are going to die after losing your last meal. The problem is the damn things are effective and work.
The second part of the book in a series of “essays” laying out his philosophy and explanations of what he thinks works and why. He writing is not done in any great literary style however he gets his points across. The material is excellent in content and deserves reading and thought. He claims anyone can adjust to and do his workouts but I would not suggest it as a primer on how to get lean and fit. It will take some time to get into being able to do the workouts completely as laid out.

This is the one which is first in the sequence.
The Pushup 25
• Do 25 pushups
• Walk 5 yards
• Do 24 pushups
• Walk 5 yards
• Do 23 pushups
• Walk back 5 yards
• Continue until you get down to 1 pushup

Pushup/Burpee Workout #1
• 10 pushups
• 10 Burpees
• Alternate for 5 minutes
Work your way through all the workouts in the book as listed in sequence then apply to Delta Force or Seal Team Six to see if they have openings.
