My boyfriend's lost almost 20 pounds! In 6 weeks!
He got really nervous about his blood pressure last month and finally was able to go to the doctor (no insurance) and get on some meds. We've stopped cooking big dinners every night (we basically were eating enough for four people) and have been doing a lot of baked potatoes (I know, not the best, but at least they are low-fat! ) and grilled chicken salads and veggie pasta and omelets. We're actually saving a good bit of money and it helps because we can each eat when we need to and I feel less bad about coming home late after the gym.
He has been good about going to the Y and eating on his own schedule. He feels great about losing some weight and fitting into a little bit smaller clothes.
We can either be good or bad influences on each other- we're pretty awful about convincing each other 'oh, it's been a long week, lets just make a pizza...' so we are trying to convince each other the opposite way- to be healthy.
Its a journey!
