Tomorrow morning we leave New Orleans for Alabama. We are stopping for beignets. Love them! One of the things I have to do while in New Orleans is have powdered sugar on my blouse and chickory coffee! I'll count them but can't miss them!

Had a great visit with family. Beat my siblings at poker and enjoyed my parents and seafood.

Life is good. And today I was within my calories!

Diana, you are doing terrific! So glad you are having a great time with your family. What's a beignet? I don't think I have ever had one. Sounds like it's a yummy treat! Enjoy!

Many years ago, we were in New Orleans and I really, really, wanted to try the beingnets (?) I had read about a lot. It took us a long time, stopping to ask at gas stations, getting poor directions, etc., but we finally found a little coffee shop and I had my treat. My husband was so patient and just kept driving around, humoring me. Of course, I was thinner then.

That's funny. On Wednesday my coffee group is taking me out to breakfast to celebrate my birthday and the place we are going to is known for it beignets. Never heard of them til last week. I looked up the calories and was floored. I want to try them but I am afraid that nearly 600 calories for 3 beignets that may not keep me full to lunch is calorie dear. DH and I are going to Copelands for dinner the night before. That will be back to back too many calories. Enjoy your trip. It is only one day.

Know what? That's a completely healthy attitude. Your new eating habits should fit in with your life. If you're going to eat a treat--be a food snob and have something delectable.
