Attempting to deal with pain

Friday, April 27, 2012

We've been working out for a while now, and luckily I've experienced less pain and discomfort then i thought i would, other than the typical "soreness". However for some reason today/last night my back has started to act up. No..not act up. HURT. HORRIBLY.

I'm semi-used to that I mean as used to it as one can be. My two pressure points in my lower back/butt area are horribly sensitive. If something even lightly grazes them, it can cause me to cry. A doctor once told me that it was caused by scoliosis, but as I get older, I think he was wrong. Either way right or wrong, they are the most painful part on my body. I've been lucky while working out lately to not hurt myself to badly. A few times they have been touched or grazed, and I was just sore for a day or so. But today....All I wanted to do was cry. Icey-hot is my friend, but he cant fix everything.

I can't get comfortable, and thats the thing that is bothering me the most. Each position causes them to ache, and hurt. I'm just miserable right now.

Despite wanting to cry, I managed to go to the gym anyway and do a super light workout. I think I just needed to get out of the house, distract myself from the immense want to punch something.

So here I sit now, trying to find a spot where I'm comfortable enough to type and read. UGH it hurts so bad. I just hope tomorrow will be a better day. emoticon

Ty for commenting! My back is MUCH better today. We took today off as a good rest day. We took last monday off too. I think it was I keep a graveyard schedule (mostly) so my days run into one another lol Anyways, I slept fairly well, had an icehot patch on my back and eased some stress. I also wont be doing the same exercises again that I think aggravated my pressure points. That was the first day we added those into the rotation. Ty so much for the encouragement!!

Hmmm, now I see the reason for your pain, which I
am very sorry for. I do hope you feel better soon.
An impotant motto that helps me is:
"Listen to your body." For me, and perhaps for you,
14 days of straight workout may be way too much.
I work out one day and rest 1-2 or so, if my body is
in pain, like shin splints, etc. You want to be very
careful not to do anymore hurt to your body.
Pain often is telling you to rest for a time.
Excercising, and loosing weight will take time.
Safety is key, so you don't hurt or sabatoge
yourself. The 14 days in a row shows me you
are a very dedicated and motivated person.
That's great, but please allow yourself time to
attain your wonderful goals. You ARE doing great!!
Hope this helps.
