So.. CLEAN EATING...
What is that? Is everyone doing it these days?! Should I be doing it.. The answers.. Clean eating is eating unprocessed foods, as close to nature as possible. Unaltered by machines and without chemical introduction. Fruits, veggies.. EVEN MEAT! Organic is a pretty good example as these are typically products that don't include lots of the bad things we don't need in our systems. I dunno about everyone else.. But I find myself wanting to baby step more and more in this direction.
GET OVER MY LAZIES! This is a real problem, I try to do SO much to counteract the dreaded lazies. A lot of the time, especially lately, I've been successful! But where I tend to fail is in the kitchen. I get to doing so much other stuff.. I get tired so by the time I get into the kitchen, convenience wins over more times than I care to admit.
The mini goal...
Better eating habits for myself & my family. Fresh is just better over all.. I don't think anyone can really dispute that. The nutrients are at their peak, chemicals are no longer building up in our bodies. I'd like to be more healthy, have more of a sense of wellness and that starts with the foods we eat and the exercise we do. So.. to that.. my focus is on eating better, which in turn means cooking better. Therefore, eating clean.
Wellness, healthfulness, weight-loss. It seems to me, with my new random routine exercise set up, and the auto-declutter brain going on, the next logical progression in my wellness plan would be tackling the foods we eat. I want for us ALL to be well. I know that will happen more for some of us than others, but.. I need to make an effort to at least have a shot at it happening at all.
So.. That's where I am right now. Any comments, suggestions, would be welcome. Please feel free to offer your thoughts. Have a great day!
If you want to check out a neat little site I found that sort of explains everything nicely, I am including a link to this one that I have just started poking around on. It has nice photos, recipes, tips for getting started! Check it out:
Another site I just found really clearly laid it all out in a few easy steps:
