I would love, love, love to respond to every single individual who posted on my "What Is Wrong With Me?" blog from the other day! However, I am too busy at this time of year to do that, so here is my group THANK YOU!! When I have a blog vent I feel better just reading the responses from my Spark friends and oh boy did y'all respond this time! Great thoughts, advice and ideas too! It just feels better letting out my worries.
One of you, Victoria I think, suggested concentrating on what is right with me instead of worrying so much about what is wrong. The text I teach from for a sort of Human Relations class I teach, The Psychology of success class, says when you try to change negative thoughts to positive, don't use phrases like I just did in the title of this blog, "what is NOT wrong", but phrase things in "what went right today or what is right with me". But, truly I am a positive thinker and I am quite aware of all the rights in my life!
As for menopause, peri or not.... My MD says (I dropped by his office which is across the street from my college where I teach) and briefly talked to the nurse practitioner. I will be 47 in June and very well at the age of "the change". I did start my period very late in life, age 17. She said that since I am on a low dose birth control I should not be wxperiencing any menopausal symptoms. But, should make an appointment to have some blood drawn to see what is going on with my hormones.
Now, those of you who suggested my thyroid: I'm not sure why I didn't think of that! I do have hypothyroidism as a result of Graves disease a few years back and the destruction of my thyroid at the time. The MD just did lower my medications about 2 months ago, so I'd better call him and ask for a blood test for that! It came on so suddenly that I didn't think of my thyroid.
Sleep? Good nights and bad. Mostly good in the past week since I've been so tired! I do nap most days being this tired, but not every day. The quality of my sleep? I don't know. I don't snore on a regular basis, but do occasionally when I am really tired or when I am stopped up.
Lack of protein or iron could be at risk. I've been so tired that I haven't tracked my food like usual this week. As for the weather, it is much warmer today, but rainy. Working out too much? Really? Yes, I know I work out alot, but can't imagine cutting back but so much! I did only exercise for 30 minutes yesterday and it was just a semi-brisk walk. It didn't seem to help much! What is right?
*My sunroom is done! It passed all inspections and truly is beautiful.
*Painted the house in a variety of bright, cheery colors. While I can't see them, I picked out the colors and have an idea how bright the house is now!
*My husband. always makeing sure I have what I want and am happy, safe, and loved.
*My dog. He's still alive! He is a precious pooch even for some reason he feels compelled to go out and stand in the rain and get soaked! He allowed me to towl dry him and then wanted to snuggle.
*Good books to read and relax!
*Spark friends who allow me to vent and then offer great advice and cheery thoughts!
*New Spark friends. Heard from people I never knew on my last blog. Nice!
*A nice big cup to fill and refill with lovely water!
*The last day of the semester and then a 2 week break (woohoo!)! Yeah! I'm ready for that break! Both classes elected to test together for their exams, so only have to go into the college once next week!
*Exercise and dance that both relieve my little daily stressors!
