The Bad Ass Rock Stars Team has a new challenge starting on Monday.
The Eat to Live Challenge
The order of words is very important. This is an EAT to LIVE challenge. Often times, I feel like I LIVE to EAT. My life is too focused on food. If I am not eating, I am generally thinking about what I am going to be eating next. I go look at the vending machines a few times a day and have to not have money at work so I canít buy anything. I know if I was not so food focused I would be more successful in my weight loss.
It is kind of a paradox though. In order to not be so food focused (and when I have been successful in the past) I have to still focus on food. Tracking is key! When I track consistently and stop eating when Iíve hit my max calories I lose weight.
My Goals for the EAT to LIVE challenge are:
-Track everything! If I chew a piece of gum, it goes on the tracker.
-Stay in my calorie range.
-Eat enough protein and fiber.
-Make a healthy recipe every week and blog about it.
-Make a new recipe based on a teammateís blog every week.
-Stay in range on the weekends (THIS is a challenge!)
My weekly focus goals are:
-Week 1: Stop eating between work and dinner. I often eat right when I get home and then still eat a full dinner an hour later. This adds about 150 calories a day!
-Week 2: Stop eating whenever my husband does. I tend to take him eating as a cue that I should also eat. I need to listen to MY body, not my husbandís.
-Week 3: Eat more vegetables. I eat a lot of fruit, but I forget about veggies most days. My goal is to eat two servings of veggies everyday.
-Week 4: Stop snacking while I make lunches. I have a tendency to snag a few (or more) cheez-its, a bit of peanut butter, etc. It isnít a ton, but it is extra calories I donít need since Iím not hungry!
