So a baby bird was found last night at Pizza Hut. They tried to find the nest, but never did so my son brought it home. Guess who is taking care of it.
I looked online to see how/what to feed it and found it is illegal to have a wild bird. So I've been trying to a wildlife rehabilitation organization near me to take it. No luck so far because they are all several hours away. I called a lady in Cleveland but haven't heard back from her yet. I did find out to soften dry cat food in a little water and give that to the baby. I was also told to find a way to warm it up and keep it warm. So I've done both of those things and it is now nestled down in the "nest" I made for it, chirping, and going to sleep.
Now if I can keep our dog and two cats from it. The dog wants to play and mother it.
The cats... well it wouldn't be good for the little bird.
Anyone know what it is? How often should it be fed?
I'll try to post another picture later with a better view.
