I play this mental game w/ myself. If I really want something 'sweet' I have to do something active for 5 min. Maybe 25 squats or situps, or march in place or touch my toes, or walk a few flights of stairs.
After I've done that, gotten my heart rate up then OK I've earned that sweet. True 5 min of cardio is not going to pay for the calories in a PayDay bar, but again it's a head thing. And then I SAVOR IT as if there will never be another PayDay bar in my life. But half the time I feel so good about the 5 min I just did, that the sweets don't seem nearly as appealing and I pass on it or I just eat half, or I go eat a piece of fruit instead.
And hey if you eat the sweet first, cool, but don't let the after-guilt get you...still do the 5 minutes. Pay Now or Pay Later for that PayDay!
