What a great day it has been! After being told for a couple days she couldn't eat and drink yet, Meg is finally allowed! They gave her some water and soft food to munch on and she couldn't be happier. They asked her what she wanted next and she can't even decide. Grandma Throckmorton brought some homemade butterscotch pie and Meg said she would want some of that later! Meg is just ecstatic today and said it's the best day ever. Along with this, they also adjusted the vent in her trachea so now when she talks you can actually hear her and not have to read lips.
Tomorrow is the big move down to Atlanta, GA to begin rehab at the Shepherd Center, which specializes in brain and spinal cord injuries. This is a top facility for spinal cord rehabilitation and Meg is anxious to get there and to start working hard already.
Thank you for all of the continued thoughts and prayers and we will keep everyone updated on Meg's progress of the next couple months at the Shepherd Center!
