Long Day Part 1.

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

Today was too long. Its only 8pm. I may shower, read a bit, and go to bed earlier than normal for me.

Sigh...I got up with the intention of going to clean a neighbor/SP buddy's house today. I ended up sending over the kids. My DS says, "Mom can you put my 3 papers onto the jump drive. I need it before we leave in 2 hours." Computers and I do not always get along. Between my boy and myself we got that done with the spell checks in a fair amount of time. I did ask him to let me know in advance next time. The day before due day would be GREAT.

I checked my emails while eating breakfast. I found some books for next year next to nothing in price so I called her. She had to look up some stuff and get back to me. Ok fine. Caused me not to make it to buddy's house today. We have to go first thing in the morning.

We made it to the end of the English party. Was able to get more information for the personal finance class ironed out.

Went to the eye doc. I got my glasses adjusted. I can see better now. Not loving progressive lens. They tend to get knocked out of whack to easily.

Went to the library and the post office. I mailed off a package that has the potential to save us a TON of money if we get approved.

Went and picked up the books for next to nothing after I stopped at a friend's house to borrow her computer. I left all my info at home and didn't want to loose and hour to go get it. I was in and out of her house in 15 minutes.

Went to Wal-mart. I got my DD the last of the Hunger Games book for getting her English caught up and turned in today. Two weeks ago she was 15 papers behind. She did AWESOME getting them done. While there she found the Hunger Games lapel pin. She is so excited about that she is going to let me read the book first! (That and the fact that she needs to have her Science done by Thurs and the rest of the week looks like today. LOL!!) She also knows that if I'm involved with a good story I won't ask her to do anything or bug her about whats going on in the book. She is pretty smart I think.

My DS went to Gamestop. He talked all the way home about different games and their ratings. New systems getting ready to come out for the Christmas season.

We get home. The DH is working on the broken van. GREAT! I asked if he got the part? I was really wanting to know did you spend $200 to $400 without talking to me first? He got angry, smacked the ground, got all defensive like what am I doing in his business.

Hi Honey I'm home. Its time to yell at me now. Its time for no one to be talking to me. Its time for everything to be my fault.

Heard a funny today: Woman goes to a therapist. "I feel like a door mat. The way he treats me." "Honey, you are NOT a doormat. You are wall to wall carpeting." How do I stop being carpet? Things have to change. Beam me up Scottie. I've had enough.

All in all this was a good day. emoticon Just long.

Praising my husband before I jump in with the questions helps smooth the feelings and prevents ruffled feathers. You can't control other people's actions. . .just your reactions.

Honey you deserve to be more than a welcome mat or wall to wall carpet. I know because it is said in the bible that we are ;) Now if you need the exact verse I will have to go hunting, because I bible memorizer I am not...

Now when it comes to people treating you like that you need to respond calmly and firmly. You should read some of the things from Kirk Martin about how moms allow themselves to get overused, but in the end it makes us feel bitter towards those we love. The place things start to change is with you. you can read from Kirk martin by searching for celebrate calm and his name. He may have speaking engagements near you soon if you check his schedule. They are FREE to the public so grab the hubby and kids and take them along (He loves kids in attendance!) You may all hear something that hits home.

I hope you days have gotten better.
