Yesterday was Provincial elections in Alberta. The supposed polls predicted that there would be a very close race for government in Alberta. That the chances of a 41 years reign of the Progressive Conservatives would either end or we would have a minority government with possible new elections again in a year.
Well once again the people of Alberta have spoken and the Progressive Conservatives will remain in power with a majority rule. History was made last night with the election of Alberta's first female prime minister. What will remain to be seen is whether those that lost can actually put aside their sniping and differences and work together to make this province even stronger.
What an interesting turn of events. I will readily admit that I am thrilled with the election of Alison Redford and I like the direction that she is moving the province towards. I wish her much success in pulling all the factions together and finding a way of working towards the betterment of all Albertans.
Another lovely day yesterday weatherwise.
I have been given permission to not attend a work function on the basis of the fact that there will likely be lots of flowers and perfume scents there. Yay! It's a long-service awards ceremony and because I've been there over 10 years, I was supposed to attend.
Only 3 more days of work and then holiday time.
Blessed with a new day of life and looking forward to whatever it might contain.
Have a great and wonderful day,
