600 Yard Swim

This morning after class, I went to the pool and swam 600 yards, and it took me about 18 minutes. This is about 2 minutes less than it took me to swim 500 yards in the Evergreen triathlon last summer. So I guess my ST is working.

What isn't working is the food. Today I started logging my food again. I'm so frustrated. I trained for 2 months for that tri over the weekend, I've been putting miles on my bike every day, and I've been ST 2x a week all year, and I've lost ONE POUND in the past 2 months. I wouldn't care so much about the number on the scale if my clothes were getting looser, but they're not.

I feel like I'm starving all the time, or maybe it's in my head. I do really awesome for b-fast and lunch, and then after lunch I start grazing while I'm studying, and by dinnertime I've lost control and I have no appetite for dinner. :(

It doesn't help much that the pantry is empty and there are still 4 days until payday.

So I'm back to logging and eating clean and sticking with water during study time. *sigh*

    I space out my meals and snacks so that I am eating every two hours or so. It really helpz to keep me on track. And I try to drink lots of water before I eat and with my food. It helps to keep me full emoticon

    Tracking really helps me, and so does watching what is in my pantry in terms of grazing so I am not grazing on chips or cookies. Do you have high fiber, slow eating snacks on hand? Air popped popcorn with nutritional yeast can be a delicious grazing food, without adding on too many calories. Sipping on lemon water can give you something to do with your hands and mouth while you are reading, etc. and fill in for grazing.

    There is such a thing as not eating enough but can understand how the grazing can get out of control - Nutella by the spoonful - oh my. Anyway, don't beat yourself up too much - if you lose a pound every two months, it's 6 pounds a year. Right now, I'd take a 6 pound loss - better than a gain!

    I think its something about having to account for everything that you eat that makes you cranky and hungry. I know EXACTLY what you are saying. If you can, get some beans (canned if you can, dried if you have to $$ speaking) I find they make lovely nibbles and they are cheap as anything.
