4-23-12 - Week 2--Started scary but ending ok

Ok Monday last week was good, but then with this new plan have to check weight often had small gains Tue and Wed, I didnt freak but if it went up one more was going back to the 1200cal. Lost the 2 lbs I gained earlier in the week and had a .5 lost when I weighted in today.
I stayed the course for the whole week around 1500 cal daily increased protiens and kept Carbs on the low side. This was an interesting challenge but good for me too. The one thing that is a wonder is that for the whole week I did weigh daily to keep track, logged in my little notebook but I never reall freaked out even with the gain. I am pretty proud of that, I kept my eyes on the end of the week and not the middles. I weight this morning and although it was a small loss, it is a loss and that is all I have been hoping for.
This is starting week 3 and I plan to keep to the 1500 cal higher protien week. I do miss my bowl of Special K fruit and yogurt in the morning, I am getting use to the egg beaters scarmble I am having. Weekends are a challenge also, not for over eating but for keeping on the schedule of meals and snacks. Saturday went ok but Sunday I was just so out of sink. But the weekend was both productive and fun. Got the front yard weeded and trimmed, still have some dead heading to do on the bulbs, and got the back porch cleaned off some since spring and summer are really putting forth themselves want to get that all ready for some outside time. We also hit the nursery and got lots of veggies to plan and some pretty plants to add. Dh got the veggie boxes all cleaned up, repainted, and filled with soil most of that done over the last month, the soil was a small truck load Sat, which he and son moved and filled the boxes. We also have some flower boxes we painted over the winter and I finished stencilling with cat pics then verathaned to protect. I got 3 fully done and this week will work on the last 2. These will be added to the backyard near some steps we added to get to and raised area along the back fence were we have fruit trees planted. Although the weekend here in CA was pretty warm in the 90's it was nice to get outside and get some yard work done. Today I plan to finish deadheading after I get back from Curves and a couple errands.
So although the week started off a little scary with the weight gain, in the end it was a nice week. I am looking forward to this week and getting more house things done. I know we need to make some time for ourselves in the busy of the day, but I am finding that turning off the tube and keep mildly busy is better that just sitting around. I am also for lunch sitting at the table and reading the paper or browsing through a magazine. Just nice quiet time, well sorta 2 of our cats like to keep me company do it not really solitude lol.
Wishing all my dear friends a real nice week and rememeber it the journey that is the most important and what we can learn as we go. The End is the reward for keeping true to our vision and believing in ourselves. I BELIEVE IN YOU AND ME...........DO YOU???!!

  Sounds like a great start to your program, good for you for sticking to it for more than 2 weeks. That's one of my problems, the sticking to it for long enough for it to actually make a difference! Our Curves has closed so now I have to figure out something at home. It's so easy to be lazy at home!

    emoticon emoticon for not freaking out at daily weigh ins. It is normal for your weight to fluctuate day to day up or down. usually that is why it is best for those on a diet to weigh no more than once a week. What you have eaten, drank, and even sodium content makes those fluctuations. emoticon emoticon
