On The Road to Surgery

Monday, April 23, 2012

Well, this is my first ever blog, and I am not sure what to say, so I will just let my mind go.

Two years ago, I entered into a surgery road simply because I am very overweight, and I have trouble losing weight due to my PCOS and diabetes. Also, there have been times in my life where I have, for different reasons, not been able to eat. One was when I was an over the road truck driver, and I worked for 20+ hours a day, and was usually too tired at the end of the day to eat. Another time, I was living alone, working 60+ hours a week to pay rent, pay utilities, feed my pets, and at the end of everything, I simply didn't' have enough money to buy myself food. So because of this my body doesn't want to lose any weight because it thinks that I won't eat again.

Anyway, I originally entered the surgery process for weight loss. But now, because of my diabetes, I have severe nerve damage in my stomach and I have to take medication just so that I can eat more than clear liquids, and the surgery will bypass my stomach so I won't have the issues with my stomach.

My nutritional coach has put me on a 1000 cal/day diet, and I am having issues sticking to it. I am going to be using this blog to help with why I feel a need to eat so much.

Wow! That is a rough life. I can only imagine how hard it would be to only eat 1000 calories. I am surprised they would put you down that low. So if I understand this right, did you have surgery for weight loss? Like a gastric bypass?

It's hard to believe you were a truck driver! If you had the stamina to do that job you should be able to tackle everything else in your life, including a diet. YOU CAN DO IT!!! I'm plugging for you!
