Need recommendations for a good book on running. Looker for one that covers the basics of running and diet for running. Any suggestions? Would rather have your suggestions as to researching for a week.

A friend of mine recommends "Born to Run." I have not read it yet, (it is on my list to read). He actually read and it started to run. He never ran before that, so I guess it is inspiring :)

So sorry...can't help you here. I would like to be a runner but just not possible here in the Mexican village I live in. Too many cobblestone streets that I have to be very careful not to twist my ankle or fall down just power walking.
But good for you. Hope it works for you.

I haven't read any books, but I'm currently 2/3 of the way through the Couch to 5K running program...it's great! You can download free podcasts for the runs on iTunes.

I use the Cool Runnings website heavily. It is full of articles on just about everything. I found it very helpful for all the articles on injury prevention. They also have a number of training plans.

I love the Rookie Running Group here on SP.

I have a copy of Hal Higdon's beginning running booklet, but I never use it.

Good luck finding resources for running, and let me know if you find something that you like which I haven't mentioned.
