Still Working at it, with no results ... yet

Still no weight loss since starting to eat LCHF. I am reading Mark Sisson's Primal Blueprint and have decided to cut the cheese (except for a bit of aged gouda that I bought yesterday), eat more nuts, cut all artificial sweeteners and as many processed foods as possible. I'm hoping this will help. I have gained 3 pounds since eating LCHF and I'm not sure why. I have also been trying to manage my blood sugars better and as a result of this diet I do not have to use as much insulin, so that should help, right? The only other idea I have in my mind is the fact that I usually have to eat about 2-4 glucose tablets per day to treat low blood sugars (I am working on that!!). Could a max of 16 extra carbs per day really be causing me to GAIN weight every week even though my total daily carb intake aside from the tablets is in the 30's? I guess it's possible.

I started the Insanity workout last night too. If this workout routine plus my eating habits do not cause me to lose weight, I don't know what will!!

    Sounds like some good changes.

How often do you monitor your blood sugar? I don't think the glucose tabs are a problem, but maybe still too much insulin?

    Have you started lifting and doing more muscle-building work, too? I'm down to 112 because I've been NEGLECTING my strength workouts the past 2 weeks, I'm convinced of it. (all nighters at work are something that creates an ebb and flow in my workout life--I accept non-perfection on that front) I expect that when I'm back to getting my kettlebell swings and squats that I'll gain some good weight back. You might be adding some good stuff to your body composition.

The elimination of processed foods is a BIGGIE. I can have a couple days of times out with friends having chips or whatever, and gain 3 pounds. Two days of veg, meat, fruit and I'm right back down very fast. I know you're anxious to see that kind of result, and I'd say core to Primal is the whole processed foods elimination thing for dramatic results.

Plus, yes, you're switching away from a med to a lifestyle approach.

How are you feeling? Good? Better? Other side effects beside the weight loss goal that can encourage you? For me, it is the utter loss of acne after an entire adulthood plagued with cystic acne.
