Thought for the Day...Spiritual

On the soccer field, the lop-sided loss tastes bitter to the six-year-old. He didn’t mean to score one for other team. Dejected by the final outcome and by his own performance, the boy trudges off the field. But suddenly, he spots his dad waiting at the edge of the field. The father gently reaches for his son’s hand. Hope quietly resurges in the youngster as he clenches his father’s sure grip. Your heavenly Father is reaching for your hand too. He knows you work hard. He knows you give your all but sometimes come up short. He knows when you’re worn out by life and feel faint in your faith. God understands when you feel like crawling into a hole or plopping down in defeat. When you feel like you’ve endured one too many lop-sided losses, God wants you to simply put your hand in His—and trust. He promises to exchange His strength for your weariness. So what are you holding on to these days? Are your fingers wrapped around your relationships, your work, your social calendar? What or whom are you trusting in for hope, renewal, and vitality? Put your trust in the One who longs to revive you with fresh strength.
