slow but meaningful progress.

Saturday, April 21, 2012

It is one day at a time for me. weight loss is extreamly slow. But i'll hang in there. i have changed my exercise reutine recently. i now swim two days a week And use weight machines twice. My legs are feeling stronger and have less pain. I walk a little more, Next change will invovle some sort of strechting. Maybe some sort of chair exercise.
Another important step will be getting a better social life, I find myself feeling alone too often. Something I cannot continue too much longer. I will need to find more friends somewhere. I know they're out there. Have a great day.

I also am a Turtle but will never quit no matter how slow going and frustrating it can be at times. Like someone said maybe you'd enjoy doing some volunteer work somewhere that you'd like. They are always so needed and appreciated and you would be giving something back to others and that is such a good feeling. You mentioned you go to Church are there activities/classes there that you could get more involved in? Like CatLady if you want a pen pal it would be fun to exchange e-mails with you. Take care and enjoy your weekend. God Bless.

Yes, we are! You've got some good suggestions here already, but some of us ARE more local. Be not afraid to reach out if you want to hang out. There are PLENTY of coffee shops to get over the initial shyness of meeting new friends.

Keep up the good work. I too have slow weight loss, but due to some recent changes in my attitude and lifestyle I am seeing results. You mention being lonely. I too am lonely and only socialize with my mom over the phone a couple of time a day. My family lives far away and I have few friends that are local for me. My suggestion to you would be to volunteer at the hospital. That is if you are able. Even sitting at the visitors desk will provide you with social interactions. Maybe volunteer at the nursing home reading newspapers to those who are unable to read anymore. I used to work in a nursing home and you'd be surprised how many of the residents miss reading the daily newspaper. I know we are only on email, but I'd be glad to be your friend and I would be glad to email you daily. Let me know if this is something you would like to do. Hugs going your way!!
