New to this....

Friday, April 20, 2012

I am really new to the whole blog thing. I never considered just putting my thoughts and ideas and all that crud out there for other people to devour. I have read a bunch of blogs and it is really encouraging, insightful and very interest to see that others share the same struggles that I do. Others have the same ideas and seeing the ones that have different ideas as well. Funny how I can almost have better talks and conversations with people I have never met than the people that I consider closest to me.

This morning, I remarked to my wife that I am down to the weight that I was 20 years ago. And that I was 20lbs lighter than I was when I got married. She didn't like what I had to say. She told me how much she didn't care about weight. Which tells me how little she cares about being healthy or my health either. She had other things to worry about. That being said, I figure I will put some of those thoughts out there for others to see and get the support from those that think like I do.

You are doing great! And you are doing it for YOU. I have lost 40 pounds. My husband's response is "you always looked fine". Lol Not exactly uplifting. Keep working. It makes a difference to you. You will gain confidence and like what you see. emoticon

Sometimes we meet resistance from the ones we love. I live with my parents my mother is a good cook but all fattening. She gets upset because I don't eat with her and my father. But this weight loss journey is for me. It makes me feel good and I love her but I will not stay unhealthy for anyone. That what I like about sparkpeople there is alot of support. emoticon
