Happy Friday, Everyone!! I am so excited for this weekend. My boyfriend and I are celebrating our 1 year anniversary at the beach. Now, keep in mind, this is the Washington coast that we are going to, so it will probably be cold and windy but it will be a get-away regardless!
Without my boyfriend, this lifestyle change would not have been as easy as it has been. He is taking the journey with me and he makes most of our dinners, and has no problem hitting the gym after work most days (unless his ex is off too late and he is still with his kids). But his going to the gym and being so consistant encourages me to do the same. I love that we are able to go through this together. :)
On that note, my jeans seem to be fitting better today! They are a size down from what I was wearing at the beginning of the year, so they were a little tight when I started wearing them and would cause a slight muffin top, but that is gone now! Its very exciting as the scale isn't showing my improvements.
Yesterday I had an idea that will help me to always remember my accomplishments. I went to the craft store and bought Swarovski beads and some bracelet memory wire. I brought home something like 10 colors of beads and I made a code as to when I get to add each bead to my bracelet. I don't have the code with me, but some examples are:
1 purple bead every time I workout for an hour (usually ever 2 days)
1 champagne bead every time I reach 10 miles through my workouts
Everytime I complete 20 hours, rather than adding a purple bead for that hour, and when I reach 100 hours, I will put a yellow bead rather than a blue bead
Same idea applies to miles traveled during workouts
I will also give myself a bead every 20 workouts
There will be a black bead for every pound lost
I'm very excited about it! It will be random and colorful. I am wearing my bracelet now, with a whole 6 beads on it! In order to wear it without it being complete, I am using plain silver beads as place holders. As I get more and more completed, I will transfer the beads to a new wire to make a multi-strand bracelet. It really makes me want to work hard so that I can have this beautiful bracelet to remind myself of all of my hard work.
Does anybody else have a creative way of motivating themself??
Have a great weekend!!
