I have been able to find the time to exercise this past week and I think I have finally found a rhythm that I can enjoy. I am doing cardio six days a week and strength training directly after the cardio three days a week. I find the strength training to feel more beneficial (sweat inducing with greater muscle awareness) when I do it directly after a short 15 minute cardio workout. Hopefully I can keep this up since I am enjoying it. :-)
I LOST another pound! Yay. I thought that scale was never going to move. I even zeroed it in hopes that was the problem, but it was fine. I just needed to be patient. I have still been doing really good with my eating. I plan my meals the day before and it really does help me to say "no" to impulses. And I have scheduled my food intake to be steady throughout the day. I am still 100% breastfeeding my 12-month-old so my calorie intake may need to be a little higher than average. A typical day for me is as follows:
6:00 Breakfast: one cup skim extra milk, one-half slice homemade WW toast with Smart Balance Light margarine and Polaner jam and one egg.
9:00 Snack: 1/2 C fresh pineapple with 1/2 C cottage cheese
12:00 Lunch: 3 C romaine lettuce with a bell pepper and tomato and light raspberry vinaigrette dressing. 4 to 5 ounces of BS chicken breast with mustard and a half slice of homemade WW bread
3:00 Snack: granny smith apple with monterey jack cheese
6:00 Dinner: some lean protein such as chicken, fish, pork loin with at least 2 C of steamed veggies such as green beans, zucchini, peas, and a WW starch such a homemade bread, quinoa or rice.
9:00 Sometimes I have a small (less than 50 calorie) portion of dark chocolate at bedtime if I am really craving something sweet
I also take an excellent prenatal vitamin, B complex 50, vitamin D3 4,000 IU, acidophilus tablet with each meal, fenugreek (for milk production) and krill oil (similar to omega 3).
