I am so struggling right now. I have been eating so much over the past two weeks it's ridiculous. I know I should stop. I am not sure if I have gained weight because I haven't weighed in. I will be weighing in on Thursday. The only thing I can think of is that my dr. lowered my thyroid medicine. I feel awful. But she won't give me the same amount as when I was feeling great. She said that my levels are too high. Sigh........

Are you actually hungry when you're eating or just eating because food is there?

If you're actually feeling hunger symptoms, that could be a symptom of something - whether it's a nutrient deficiency that you're not filling or some trouble with your body's ability to properly digest some foods. Ask your doctor about that.

If it's more that you're just eating because food is there, you might want to try some sort of diary or journal - not of what you eat, but what you were doing, thinking, feeling in the time before you went and got food. That might help you start to identify triggers, what gets you started. Trying to remove the triggers might help you take back control of your eating.

You should ask her if it is what is affecting your mood.
