Back to the grindstone!

It's been 4 days of giving it 100%, and I feel really great.

Eating has been right on target... I've been in my calorie zone for 4 days now without any binges or mindless nibbling. I honestly haven't been worrying about macros, just eating stuff that I know is healthy and delicious, and yet the macros have been pretty darn close to the 40-20-40 I had been aiming for. So I am feeling really liberated while simultaneously meeting my goal... I'll take it!

After taking almost all of last week off from exercise (to give my foot time to heal), I'm back to it this week. Bridgette and I decided to finish Body Revolution, so we started up again with Week 7. I had to modify some of the cardio intervals (namely the plyo stuff) to avoid placing stress on my foot, but otherwise, it's just fine. Yesterday I decided to go for a walk and then ended up doing some running intervals (just 1 minute at a time). Nothing hurt, but I'm still going to take it easy and not run every day for awhile.

Not that I'm measuring all my success by the scale, but I did legitimately want to lose 5 pounds so... that counts a little. When I first got home, it was 140.4 (ouch), then 139.4 on Monday (weigh in day), and 138.2 today (sneaked a peek). I hope that's legit and that it'll get even lower by this coming Monday!

Btw, I haven't been taking pics of my meals, but they have been SO GOOD and fresh since I got back to California. My favorite thing is looking at my Nutrition tracker and seeing how many different, single-ingredient foods are on it for so few calories. I'd rather see 100 calories worth of 5 different kinds of vegetables than a 100 calorie pack of cookies, you know? Makes me feel like I'm doing something right.

Anyway, here's to a solid 2nd half of this week AND a great upcoming week. (Lately I have been tending to have one great week, get lazy and slack for a week, and then get scared back into submission, repeat. I'd like to break that habit.)

    I'm glad your foot is feeling better! Maybe it was the shoes, that's what did it for me! emoticon
And great job on your eating! I think it's great that you're eating more intuitively and still getting great macros! I've been working hard on increasing my protein intake (I'm actually enjoying the challenge of eating more protein) and I can see the results!

    Your nutrition tracker looks solid! I don't know how you can eat so much chicken breast though... I am getting tired of it and I haven't been eating it daily like you have! The cottage cheese and yogurt snacks look pretty familiar. Thanks for getting back on track, it gives me lots of inspiration for meals and snacks! ;)

I can't believe a 1-hour-10-min interval run is "babying" your foot!! You're nuts! I'm glad it's doing so much better, but I definitely would avoid running daily. Even training for my half marathons and in great running shape, I never ran daily. Alternating days off (and cross-training) will go a long way from preventing all those annoying runner's ailments (tight IT band, cranky feet, sore calves, hamstrings you could play violin on...) and of course actual injuries too. Good luck with the Body Revolution program. Was that a Jillian Michaels one? Plyo can come later, when you're foot's back 100%!

Keep it up - and keep blogging! I'll do my best to keep you accountable, since you've been such a good cheerleader for me too!

    Just stalked your nutrition tracker and you definitely are doing awesome! Isn't it crazy how low calorie healthy foods are? Whenever I enter my veggies, it always amazes me. I hope your foot continues to heal!

What kind of things are you eating for protein? I am aiming for 35% protein, and I feel like I eat a ton of cottage cheeses, HB egg whites, yogurt, chicken, protein powder, and beans!!! Anything else that you have found???
