Having a pretty good day

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

I did NOT want to get moving today, I was so sleepy! But I got up, took my meds, and got moving. (Thanks to hubby & Kitty for the extra push!) So I set out on my daily walk to Starbucks to work, and decided to run part of the way! :) It wasn't alot of running, certainly not the whole day 1 of Couch to 5K, but that's alright. I got moving! I'm happy.

Been really pretty good about taking my meds on time, so that's good. Been doing a daily soy chia at Starbucks, and that has kept most side effects at bay.

I got to Starbucks today, and saw a whole bunch of butterflies fluttering around a lilac bush today; it was so pretty!!! As I've been walking more I'm really appreciating nature more, it's nice!

Today will make day 4 of being inline on my calories! Yesterday I was litterally ON THE DOT of my mac - 1620 calories! I couldn't have done that on purpose if I'd TRIED! But EVERYTHING was in range (except Pottasium - I have SUCH a hard time with that)

I've been ROCKING the fitness minutes - generally logging about an hour per day at least. 2 20 minute walks, yoga in the AM, yoga in the PM, and 5 - 10 minutes of dancing...been a bit lax on the strength training though, I should do that today :D emoticon

emoticon Great news! I'm so glad to hear about your successes this week! I've never EVER had a single day with everything in range. I take multivitamins for several nutrients (like vitamin D and potassium)

Even the butterflies were celebrating your success. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

emoticon Sometimes meds just really make waking up difficult. Good for you for not giving in and going back to bed! Fantastic about getting meds on a schedule. They really work better that way, but it's hard to get used to if you haven't had to.

Yay for running! emoticon That is so awesome that you got that in, too! What a great way to get some cardio in!

emoticon Double Yay for keeping on track with calories! whoo hooo! emoticon

Potassium is tricky if you don't know where to find it. If you can figure out a low fat, low cal topper, like salsa, or greek nonfat yogurt, a plain baked potato gives you over 1000 gms of Potassium, if you can work that into your daily calories. Have you tried unsweetened plain soy yogurt as a source of your soy? That might be very good on a baked potato.

Spark On! You're doing great! emoticon
