I have completed 1 month of work with my personal trainer now, working with her twice/week. I was starting to get anxious because, like always, my body likes to hover right around 200 lbs and it just refuses to drop! I thought maybe I wasn't making any progress despite my efforts. WRONG!

Tonight Mandy (my trainer) measured me, and I lost all kinds of inches! More than 2 around my shoulders, about 2 around my belly, 1.5 around my hips, 1 on my bicep. Woohoo! She also ran me through the same battery of tests we did the first session (pullups, pushups, crunches, planks, side planks, squats) and I was able to do a lot more of all of them. Awesome!

It's incredible how many times I have to remind myself that the scale isn't the only measure of success. I'd rather take inches over weight any day, so I'm really happy with my results so far!

Now the disappointing news: my trainer is moving to Michigan. :( (I live in CA) I'm really going to miss her!! She's really great, though, and setting me up for success by giving me stuff to work on once she leaves and insisting that I keep up with her via text/phone. She said to send questions her way any time, and that I'd better let her know how my progress is going. I'll give it a go working out on my own for a bit, but if I find I'm slacking off or struggling, I'll have to find another trainer. Such is life, I suppose!

So I'm a little nervous about Mandy leaving, but I know that I can do this. I hope you're all having a great week!
