I guess we all go through different spurts of things, right? I figured I would try it again and see if I can keep up with writing here too. I do keep up with everyone's blogs and journal entries - you SP friends are so dear to me.
Exercise: After my parents and guests left our house, I was left with a big mess in the house to cleanup and also four extra pounds. How does that happen in one week with exercise and also eating healthy? Thankfully I am determined still with exercise (I got up early so that I could workout before people actually got up when visiting us.) I am doing 1-2 workouts each day. I try to work out in the gym for at least 30-60 minutes with running 3-4 miles, lifting weights and then copious amounts of situps. Then at night when the husband comes home, we are trying to get out (weather permitting) and exercise together. That means another 60-120 minutes or running/walking or something... I have read in Runner World that this is okay as long as you are paying attention to your body and eating properly - both of which I am doing. I'm enjoying the double workouts - but I know I have to be careful not to go overboard. I make sure I don't run over 3-4 miles in the morning just in case.
Food: When we had visitors, I do know I had a bit more candy than normal and have ruined my appetite for healthy food. I heard that it takes two weeks to get back into healthy cravings and only takes one day to make your mentality to change over from healthy food to unhealthy cravings. That's a big difference. Thank goodness my family doesn't visit often, haha. So, I am working on getting those snack cravings out of my system right now. We are still eating vegan and enjoying every moment of it. It's strange when you first start veganism you have certain cravings for non-vegan things but now that we have been vegan over two years, we don't miss any of it. I'm adding more and more fruits and vegetables and trying to make sure I eat a healthy breakfast instead of something full of sugar.
Mood: I'm thinking slightly on the negative side because I have these extra pounds that I thought would go away after starting up the workouts again. I mean who gains 4 pounds in one week when being healthy? Stress maybe? Not sure... But, I'm doing everything I can possibly think of to lose those extra pounds and then continue on my hopeful weight for our Hawaii trip in a few months. Gasp, a few months! We still have to purchase tickets... haha All in all though, I'm trying to keep positive and keep going even though the scale is being a bit rude.

Tal Ronnen Grilled Marinated Tofu, coleslaw and a grilled sweet potato - yum! (Nope, didn't eat the whole giant potato though.)
Homemade bagels for breakfast on workout day. Yum! Vegan cream cheese

Vegan hot dog mixed veggies lunch
Toasted Kale chips - homemade
Chopped Baked Tofu Salad Lunch
