...perhaps Sunday night pepperoni pizza dinners are not the miracle weightloss fix they've long been billed as...Oh, wait.
Yes, yes, you'd think I'd know that a sunday evening pizza-stravaganza will not likely result in a smaller number on the scale on Monday morning (blame the sodium, the serving size, the water retention, what you will). But it's a fresh week, and I have lots of yummy stuff planned, so I just need to hit the ground running! I'm doing alright on my clean/primal eating attempts (which the occasional aforementioned pizza diversion), but I still have a good feeling about this month. At least I'm fully *aware* of my diversionary tactics!
In other news, I'm working on more slow cooker recipes to minimize the "there's nothing to eat and I don't have time to cook" excuse's plausibility...so today for lunch I had the last of my french onion soup (so so so so so good...maybe that's just the cheese talking, but it was amazing nonetheless!). And John volunteered to make beans & rice in the slow cooker today, so that'll be awesome. Hard to beat chorizo, beans, and peppers! We also have a bag of frozen teriyaki chicken leg quarters that I think we'll either grill or roast up tonight, so that's pretty much what we're eating for the week! I can't decide if it's horribly depressing or really exciting that we don't have to cook till Friday or Saturday this week (well, breakfast excluded. I draw the line at a cold breakfast!).
Anyhow, it gives me some time to focus on being active, which is my goal for the week. At least 30 minutes of something every day (even if it's only a walk!) We'll see how it goes, but I have high expectations!
