Not Much Done Today :(

Sunday, April 15, 2012

It was raining periodically outside most of the day here today. I ended up not doing much in the way of exercise. :( I'm sure I could have done exercise indoors, but for some reason it just didn't happen.

Went to a neighbor's church this morning for Sunday service. The people there seemed really nice. It ended up being a longer service than I expected though. So it ended up getting done this afternoon. Which was ok, but threw my day off more than I thought it would.

The church service message was mainly about being faithful and waiting. How most of the time we want the answers and the results to things right away. Other than the fact it usually doesn't work like that. But if for some chance it did and we get it right away we may not get the full answers or results that we are looking for or fully should/could have. That the better results come from it being given to us when it's our time to get them.

One of the analogies that was used that I thought was interesting was something about plants. How each plant when you put the seeds in the ground, each one has different harvesting times. Like some plants are ready in 90 days and some may take longer or shorter depending on what they are and their purpose.

For some reason it all made me think of my goals to weight loss. How I wanted to be at my ideal weight all along or at the very least by yesterday. lol! But knowing at the same time that it didn't take overnight for me to get at the weight I am now. So it won't take overnight for it to just go away. Which it would be so nice for the excess weight to just go away. :) But since it doesn't work like that guess I have to keep working at getting rid of the excess. :(

And the analogy made me think about how each of our journeys are similar, yet at the same time different. Some may be able to lose the weight in a matter of weeks or months, but others it may take longer than that. But that's ok as long as we stick with working in a healthy manner towards our goals.

I have to say it's going to be nice once I reach my goal weight. Seeing I have to work so hard for it, I think I will appreciate it a lot more than if I just woke up one morning at my ideal weight. Although I wouldn't object to that either. lol! ;)

After church I babysat my niece and got some housework done.

Tomorrow have to drive out to Rochester and back. So trying to figure out how and when to get my workout fit into the day tomorrow. :( According to the weather forecast it's suppose to be raining and storming out tomorrow with a wind advisory. Hoping for nice driving weather despite what they are forecasting for.
