More running

Elated that I got the run in yesterday and had speed, and yet again today - another fast run- this time getting a 5 mile run in. I had splits:
mile1 8:13 mile 2 7:57 mile 3 7:47, mile 47:53, mile 5 7:56. 39:43 was my overall time. I was happy. The run was broken in half. I ran from my sister's house, to my other sister;s house to pick her up. then we ran together to this local breakfast place to meet our families and our sister and her family for breakfast. I had an eggwhite sandwich on a wheat bagel with veggies, cheese and bacon. DELISH. I also had an ice coffee. I waited about 10 minutes and decided to top the 5k- which i ran in 24:37, to run home too. So I ended up doing that solo. Belly was full but did it! total miles 5 for the day. Nice. Today we have a busy day. My husband is doing better with his recovery from the surgery. He had a plate and 12 pins inserted in his left leg to repair his fractured tibia bone. He was groggy from the meds but doing better. We hope tomorrow or Tuesday that he will be released from the hospital. He will be out of work for 8 weeks recovering. We are blessed he is overall doing well. Tomorrow heading to Boston to watch the boston marathon from the Fire Station. Excited to cheer my nephew who is being pushed the last 1000 yards by a runner, and also all my Greater Lowell Road Runner teammates who are running. So exciting. Its supposed to be HOT. I ran the marathon last year- 4:03:42 was my time. I ran Boston the first time in 1998 and did it in 4:24 - so nice to have that improvement. Running another marathon this coming October- Cape Cod Marathon. That will be my 6th marathon. Anyway feeling good and hope all are enjoying the weekend. Mine is a long one. Vacation day for tomorrow. YAY!
