I Challenge You on Meat Portions!

I spent several hours looking up calories and nutrition information on meat portions before preparing dinner for my family yesterday. I was shocked to find how many calories are in a portion of meat that you pick up at the grocery store.

Did you know that .25 lbs or 4 oz. of salmon contains 170 calories? That is just for the meat. That doesn't count olive oil or other seasonings and marinating sauces used in cooking the meat.

I purchased 1/2 lb. of salmon to split with my husband and the price wasn't too bad.

I challenge all of you to look at the calories of meat, and I think you can save calories and money after you see the results!

    I have found when I buy fish I look for Tilapia 4 oz. 115 calories and the $ are a lot less than salmon. I caught Crawdads in the summer and freeze them ( going to use some for dinner tonight ) 90 Calories for 4 oz. I wonder how Shrimp compares?
