My daughter had a soccer game scheduled at 2 pm this afternoon but about 9 am we got notified that the game was being postponed due to severe weather threat and the other team needing to travel about 2 hours to get here. About 1 pm I woke up to loud banging on the house due to rain & hail. This was about the time that the team would have been warming up if the game hadn't been postponed.

We just had a rain storm here this afternoon but looked more like a blizzard. We could barely see the post office drop boxes that are only a half block away from our house. We had a stream of water flowing between our house and the neighbors. Water with hail stones so deep that you couldn't even see the curb of the street in the intersection right by our house. Cars driving down the street had water up over the bumper and one even stalled off in the middle of the street. The driver got out and walked to the post office parking lot and the water was up to her knees as she walked through the street.

Over an hour after the main part of the storm and we are still surrounded by water. Our trash and recycling cans were floating through the yard. Our GMC truck parked in the back yard had water up to the bumper as it sat there. My husband couldn't even get his car home and ended up parking in the neighbors driveway for now. The water/hail were up to the top of the bottom step leading up to our front porch.

We still have a chance for more rain or severe thunderstorms yet this afternoon so who knows what will happen yet this evening. Guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

Take care everyone.

I am glad that everyone is safe and that they were wise enough to postpone the Game. It looks as if everyone is getting severe weather this weekend!!

WOW!!! What a mess! So glad there wasn't a twister associated with it. That's what I first thought when you said "severe weather."

Hope nobody's basements were flooded with all that water!

WOW! And I thought we had stranger weather up north! I think I prefer snow over rain and sleet any day! Looks like the snow was melting and flooding the streets. Hope you survived. susana
