Time to Get Serious

I've been a Spark Member for two months now and mainly just looked around with a few comments here and there. Though I don't have any friends as yet, there are some pretty inspiring people on this site. Their weight loss has been amazing and the change in their appearance is literally like becoming a whole new person. Time for me to really commit myself to this. I know that exercise and being active ar not my problem.... it's the food that I do or do not eat that is. I can do this. I just need to be patient but persistent.

    No need to "get serious" just start ACTING! Weigh and measure your food. Choose green, green green and more green veggies and low fat protein. If you use the food tracker, you can see the # of carbs you eat too and they are oh so very important to keep under control. You CAN DO IT. Keep your eye on the prize and "act" your way to the finish line!

    Thanks TekGirl and MBW. I've always had terrible eating habits and over the past 10-12 years I've really paid for it. Will definitely take your advice though and dive right into this even if I do flounder around at first. Have a great week!

    It's OK to just stick your toe in the water while you figure out when and where you want to jump in...but jump you must! :) Well, actually, you don't have jump in at all but it sounds like you want to. Some people like to be pushed, others would prefer to inch their way in...whatever works for you is OK with the rest of us. It is honestly kind of fun once you get started - and I say that as someone who stood on the bank, testing the waters, for a very long time.

    You can do this it's not just about what we put in our mouth, there's a lot of emotional thinking that goes a long with it.
    Sometimes when you know you've gone off track it's therapeutic to come on here and just take accountability for it in a blog. You can't change what you've put in your mouth but sometimes if you just get it off of your chest in writing it makes you feel better and the next day you seem to do better.
    Let's face it we all have our days when we nit and pick, but somehow when you come on here and let it out and hear words of encouragement it just makes you feel like you can do it.
    When you read others stories and see the dramatic changes they've made in their lives and bodies.
    We all need to believe in ourselves and being on this site lets us see that we can really do what it takes for us to be healthy!
