Well here I am again. Where did my willpower go? Has anybody seen it? I have ate horrible this week. Seriously. Why would I do this after being so thrilled at Onederland last week?

My grandma had colon surgery this week.
My kids are on Spring Break.
My husband started on dayshift and although I love it, it is different actually being able to eat dinner/go out for dinner.
My mother in law fell and broke her arm last week, adding extra worry and stress.

These are just a few of the excuses I've told myself this week while I was being lazy and eating crap. This morning I have finally told myself that it is bull. Life is full of things that are going to be hard. You have to be strong. Food is not going to make you feel any better. Yes it is comforting, but the sugary junk is also deceiving. It is out to hurt you even more.
It is going to try and destroy all your hard work and effort. Put you further down in the rut wanting you to stay there.

But guess what? You do not have to stay there. You can pull yourself out. What I'm realizing fast about myself is..



So this morning, I am writing you with a clear head. Without guilt because today IS a new day. A chance to make up for yesterdays mistakes, because most of the time that is what they are. I am not perfect, after 16 months on this journey I am finally going to stop beating myself up for not being just that.


I'm realizing that this is a lifestyle change, but also the life around you is going to change. You have to adjust. If you have to tweak your schedule here and there for whatever reason, do it!

I am ready to do it right this week.

    You're making it already - we'll always have ups, downs, and detours, but can always decide to get back on track as you've done. (And I've found that the detours get shorter the longer we stick with this). Good going!

I know this because you came clean, admitted what happened, and know this is a lifestyle change...and the change is what you just did...acknowledged the error, know you do not want to continue and are ready to continue on with good choices! That is change! There will be times it happens again...and you will know you will need to acknowledge it and reconfirm your commitment! As they say, "Stay Calm and Carry On"!

    Good for you for letting go of the guilt. You sound clearheaded and that is a much healthier and effective place to be than in self-berating mode. I too made it to Onederland and then had a week long binge! What is that???!!! We get back up, dust ourselves off and................forward we go friend:)

    You are so right girl! You can do this and NONE of us are perfect. I'm up 4.9 pounds since we went on vacation and just got back yesterday. I can't beat myself up - I just have to accept the truth and start over and I have today. You can do this! You rock!

    What a week! But you've pulled out of it and you know that it's time to put one foot in front of the other and get back out there, do what's right for you. We can't beat ourselves up when we have a week like you did. If I was there I'd take you out for a walk and be an ear for you. That's what you've got to love about SP - look at all the people here cheering you on!

    It happens to all of us at one time or another. What helped me was changing up my eating plan so that I didn't feel so deprived. Added back in: fruit, peanut butter, and dark chocolate. Feel SO much better!

    You have made it so far! It's okay to slip now and then...the thing is to get back on track.. That's what I have been working on for 3 months. Although...I haven't been TRULY working, who am I kidding? Today is a new day and I am promising to myself to forget about the "yesterdays" and think of only this moment, right now, today.

You obviously already know that and you will be able to get right back to it. I don't expect this work to EVER be easy. But when you do say "I did it" it will be so worth the work. Thank you for inspiring me!

    I am working on eliminating the damage the jelly beans caused over Easter. I was good about not touching them leading up to Easter (they are there for the young guests) but I've been picking at them when I get home from work each night ever since. Today's the day I pack them up and get them out of the house for good. If it's not here, I won't eat them. And if I stay off sugar long enough I will go back to feeling indifferent to it.

    Absolutely just what I needed to read, as this is just what I have experienced this past week. I knew I was making bad choices but I kept doing it all week long. Like you, I am not going to beat myself up and honestly I am happy to know I am not alone with these temporary setbacks. I love the obstacle quote and I too, one day, want to say that I made it!

    Oh, girl, you're singing my song. I started eating at Easter and it hasn't stopped. I really need to blog, I think I'll feel better. And you haven't made any "mistakes," like you said this is real life and you have to live it. We're not on the BL campus without distractions.     You have your head in the game! Some weeks life just kicks us in the a$$. It sounds like you had one of those weeks, Part of our lifestyle change is to realize this and it sounds like you have a great grip on it!

Everyday we are doing it some days just better than others, and that you hear your inner voice is a big part.

    It's good to read you're "over it" and will not let "life" get in your way. I'm an emotional eater myself and when stressed I too often turn to comfort type food. Of coarse, I always have a "good" excuse but in my heart I know it is all about me and how I deal with things by overeating. I love your positive go get it attitude and know you just hit a "bump in the road" but thankfully you took the time to think last weeks choices over and now you're ready to move forward.   You know that you have worked hard to get to ONEDERLAND, it will take to a minute to adjust to all the stress of the week, but you will do it and you can do it. This is just one of the hurdles. I have faith in you!! You are my hope for me and yo, that all is possible. I am going to walk around my house after I write this just to burn some calories.
