I have successfully made it into day 5 of Engine 2 and firing on all cylinders. Have n0 cholesterol intake and in addition managed to keep my sodium intake in triple digits. And, with my normal Friday weigh-in, I have lost 2.8 pounds in these 5 days.
In tracking my food I notice that my calorie intake is lower, and cutting the oils has made a difference. I never feel hungry during the day and feel full at the end of the day, and don't feel famished when I wake up in the morning, so I'm getting more quality nutrients out of my calories. I limit myself to one "nut serving" per day, either a nut butter or a handful of almonds.
Reading "The China Study" this week is turning me off of cheese and dairy to the point that it's becoming less and less of a temptation as it sits in the fridge for the rest of my family as they are not doing this with me.
So I'm off to a great start as I enter the first weekend on this plan, and hope to avoid the pitfalls that weekends usually bring.
