Friday the 13th My Lucky Day and Rebooting Spark

Friday, April 13, 2012

My hubby married me on a Friday the 13th and it's been my lucky day ever since, so no better time to reboot Spark!
My reboot starts with a 2.2 lb loss in 4 days.....I'm a Blessed Woman on so many counts!
For all my Spark Friends who have wondered about my MIA, I start with that good news because it really is the positive I want to focus on. My life has been filled with lots of positives despite the stressful period of life I have gone through since last Oct. when my Spark drive began to wither. My husband has late stage COPD and in the last few months we moved some 400 miles to a new city, he lost his job, we applied for Insurance disability with his company, got approved but are fighting with Social Security and Life Insurance folks....STRESSFUL is not a strong enough word. Somewhere in this process I stopped taking care of myself, food became the only thing we could enjoy as a family, or relieve my stress and that of my son. Though I KNEW this too would lead to even more stress and bad health. Let me say GOD has provided beautifully for us despite what Insurance companies, and corporations promised us after all our years of paying premiums, so I'm so grateful, but still have many battles ahead. The battle I will not continue to ignore is my health, so often as a caregiver you let your own health go and in this case even the health of my son (18), who is now 390 lbs! My weight crept back up not to my highest but within 16lbs of it and depression set in. Thankfully, we are setttled enough now in our home and new city that I knew the best prescription for that depression was SPARKING, finding a church (BAY AREA FELLOWSHIP CORPUS CHRISTI) and slowly working back up to my healthy lifestyle. Thanks Fellow Spark Friends for fighting your own battles and sharing them it gives me strength and courage to fight another day!

It sounds like we have both had our share of struggles and both decided we needed to "spark" again! It's great to be back on the site and to see you again (BTW, I am Taffin2000 but with a new profile).

I wish I could be there with you to support and encourage you, since I can't we can be together in cyberspace!

Sending up a prayer for you and your family.

I don't think there is anything harder than trying to find a "new normal" after a big change... SO glad you are back and your spark is still burning!! Let us know if we can support you in anything specific other than prayer and know the prayers are there!!! emoticon emoticon

I'm glad you are back and finding your spark again :). My husband is recently retired and so I too am finally settled (I hope :) and trying to establish some new healthy routines in my life. I am definitely in the baby step mode :) I look forward to seeing what we can do!
