Well, I wore the post surgery shoe all day yesterday. By the end of the day my back was screaming, so today I wore my regular shoes again. I feel much better. I hadn't realized that was also one of the reasons I quit wearing the boot last week. I'd just had as much back and knee pain as I could stand and going up and down the stairs while the kids were on vacation was just too much for back and knees. At least with my regular shoes on I'm more evenly balanced when I walk. Makes a huge difference. Also there was no arch support so my foot hurt more in the post surgery shoe than it does in my regular ones. At least I have some arch support there.
I'm bored again. There is only so much "computer games" I can play. I need to be on my own so I can have my sewing machine set up at all times and can quilt when I want. I also need more room...while the kids were on vacation I used the dining room table for cutting fabric and ironing and had the sewing machine set up on a table in the garage. The weather was nice enough that I could have the garage door open so I also had advantage of all the beautiful sunshine for the weekend.
At least this time I recognize what the problem is so maybe I won't eat my way through it. I read an article, can't remember where, the other day titled "Drop the Wheat, Lose the Weight" or something to that effect. I'm going to try it for a couple of weeks just to see what happens. I made sure to weigh myself on Monday morning when I started. It has been 4 days and I don't feel as 'puffy' in the tummy area as I was, so maybe it is working.
I'm going to have to take some of my own food for the retreat weekend next week but I don't think that will be a problem...most will be protein bars or other wheatless snack foods. I also will take my shake mix and a bunch of bananas so I can have my shake for breakfast. Have to remember to box up my blender as well. Guess I should start making a list of stuff to take so I don't forget anything.
Well, it is 11 pm so I guess I should get myself in the bed. Morning will be here way too soon. Talk to you later.
