Hit a Deer

Friday, April 13, 2012

I did something today that I have never done before . . . but I would have been happy if I had never experienced it. While riding down the highway with a friend, two deer ran across the road in front of us. We missed the first one, but not the second. Blessedly the deer stayed on the outside of the car rather than flying through the windshield. Other than a few sore and scared people and a car with a very ugly front end, we are well. Tomorrow we will have to make some arrangements for the car. For now, though, we are off to sleep.

I've never actually hit a deer, but I have had enough close calls and seen enough roadkills, and deer grazing near the road that it has been one of my biggest fears. I'm glad that you are okay. Sorry about your scare, and sorry about your car.

I'm glad everyone is okay. Been there done that...seven times in my driving career. Like you I've been lucky and not been hurt (knock on wood) but it is a pain dealing with getting the car fixed. Again, glad you are okay.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. It was scary, but everybody is okay, and that is what is important. Now it is time to clean up the mess!

I'm sorry that you guys it a deer, but am very glad you all are safe. My husband hit a deer last fall, and we were very lucky no one was on the passenger side, as the deers head came through the window and shattered the glass. My husband had some superficial cuts, but he was safe. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. emoticon
