This week, I've been keeping my goals in mind.
My plan for April is
Friday: Pilates/Body Groove Dance
Saturday: Yoga or long run
This week, I did a circuit training style video and strength training on Monday.
On Tuesday, I missed my workout to take my daughter on a playdate.
Wednesday, I did Kettlebell style workout. It was intense!
Today, I went on a short walk/run around the neighborhood with my daughter, took her to the playground. Tomorrow, I'll do Pilates/Yoga or Body Groove. Saturday I'll do a long run since I didn't do much walking or running this week. Sunday, I'll rest.
I feel really motivated right now to exercise. I feel good even when I'm tired and get home from work, I feel like I NEED to move, I feel like I HAVE to move. I know that I'll feel great if I can start working out in the morning. I'll work on that. Lately, getting up in the morning has not been easy.
The spring weather is making me feel like running more. I have a 5k coming up in a few weeks. I'm doing it with my dad and my daughter will do a Kid's Fun Run. Her first race ever!!!
My daughter in her running outfit!
She loves playing/running and takes swimming classes. I am going to sign her up for ballet and gymnastics. I think in a year or so, I would like to get her on a kids soccer team. She loves playing soccer at the park with my husband and me. I want her to enjoy being active, something I never did as a child. Other than playing outside, I never did anything active with my parents, never played on a sports team or learned any skills like dance or gymnastics. I want it to be part of my daughter's life so that she doesn't have to worry about her health or weight, it will just be a part of her lifestyle. I like to cook and bake with her. We make healthy recipes and snack on fruits and veggies, cheese, yogurt, organic bread and don't buy junk food or soda. No food is "off limits" because I know that that can bring unnecessary attention to the "forbidden" food. We occasionally eat out and eat sweets. Everything in moderation, right?
I am happy that the weather is getting warmer, the days are longer. I am looking forward to summer, to my race in June. It is the Wet & Wild 5k. That was my first race last year. I was so excited. Here I am before the race last Summer.
I know that running would not have been possible if it were not from the support, ideas, education, training plans, fitness articles, trackers, and member blogs that made me start to believe that I could run. I started with a 5k your way training program. I did my first marathon this year and I plan to keep training and do the marathon again next year. I am a running leader at my school.
Here I am at the LA Marathon!
Spark People is awesome. Slow and Steady wins the race!
