I have begun the Insanity

Thursday, April 12, 2012

My husband recently spoke with a lady who had completed Insanity - the 60 day workout. She lost weight, but more than that, she lost crazy inches! I was inspired to research it and after viewing some blogs and watching the videos I am trying it. I found someone selling it locally on Craig's List for quite a discount and I snatched up the DVDs, nutrition guide and calendar.

I jumped right in a started with the fitness test. I am not very strong, but I am very motivated. (My husband doesn't think I will do it, which motivates me more!) I did what I could do, while still "digging deeper" and pushing through.

I did the first day's workout today (besides the fitness test) and it was rough! I figure I can only do what I can do, I pushed through quite a bit and am already sore, but looking forward to getting stronger, losing inches and making a change.

The nutrition guide is very similar to what is offered here on SparkPeople, so I will probably just track my food here. It does recommend amping up your calorie intake because of the intense workouts daily.

I think the thing that motivated me the most was that it was a 60-day program. There is an end in the forseeable future and I am curious as to what changes can happen for me in 60 days. It's almost like training for a 5K or something like that. There is a goal in sight and it's not just the weight loss. Every time I focus on the weight loss, I get discouraged or make excuses.

I hope to prove over time that I CAN complete this goal.

Best of luck with the insanity workout.

Insanity should be just one of your goals, a healthy weight loss is gradual. 80% is diet and 20% is workouts. Remember not to feel discourage in case you need a break here and there. There are all sorts of fun workouts and DVDs.

If you need any support or motivation on your healthy weight loss journey I am just a click away.

Of course you can also drop by team SP Class of May 2nd - May 8th, 2010. We are a very supportive team.

I acquired a copy of Insanity too. I've only done day one so far and I only made through 30 minutes of it. I'm too scared to try the rest! Good luck to you!
