My husband recently spoke with a lady who had completed Insanity - the 60 day workout. She lost weight, but more than that, she lost crazy inches! I was inspired to research it and after viewing some blogs and watching the videos I am trying it. I found someone selling it locally on Craig's List for quite a discount and I snatched up the DVDs, nutrition guide and calendar.
I jumped right in a started with the fitness test. I am not very strong, but I am very motivated. (My husband doesn't think I will do it, which motivates me more!) I did what I could do, while still "digging deeper" and pushing through.
I did the first day's workout today (besides the fitness test) and it was rough! I figure I can only do what I can do, I pushed through quite a bit and am already sore, but looking forward to getting stronger, losing inches and making a change.
The nutrition guide is very similar to what is offered here on SparkPeople, so I will probably just track my food here. It does recommend amping up your calorie intake because of the intense workouts daily.
I think the thing that motivated me the most was that it was a 60-day program. There is an end in the forseeable future and I am curious as to what changes can happen for me in 60 days. It's almost like training for a 5K or something like that. There is a goal in sight and it's not just the weight loss. Every time I focus on the weight loss, I get discouraged or make excuses.
I hope to prove over time that I CAN complete this goal.
