On Track

Thursday, April 12, 2012

I did well yesterday. Ate too many nuts and seeds and my fats were a wee bit higher than I like to see which led me to eating a bit under my calories. I know, I know, bad. But that does tend to happen after I have a few binge days and get back on track. I'll eat less nuts and seeds and more fruits and vegetables to bring up my calories.

My toe still feels like it has a too tight bandaid on it so I once again won't work out. That darn scorpion venom takes forever to work its way out. I looked a bit for them last night and didn't see any so I hope I only had one renegade scorpion who came in. The bug guy told my dad that they come in looking for a cool place from the heat so I think its going to be a long time before I turn on the AC. Its not too hot yet so I don't have to worry about the Bear's safety. I just put her to sleep in a tshirt and a diaper and she's fine with it. When the house gets up to 77-78 I'll probably turn it on but we aren't there yet.

Thursdays are now busy days for me. The bear has one of her many special needs therapies today. And between the local Air Force base, a call center and a military support service plus the counselor reaction I am going to counseling sessions to help deal with a very stressful, terrifying even that took place in March. And then at night I'm going to a group that's for family members of people who use drugs. Honestly, maybe I should sell my story for a modern day soap opera...

I'm making two types of raw breads today. An onion, carrot and flax bread and then an almond and flax bread. The onion one is in the dehydrator now and the entire house smells nothing short of amazing. I like breads way too much so I'm trying to do a raw detox and then am thinking about going 80% raw meaning that up until dinnertime I eat nothing but raw foods. I don't know what is going on with me but when I eat a majority of foods I get very, very tired. Raw fruits, vegetables and nuts don't do that to me and its better to not be sleepy during the day. It seems that whenever I need a nap the Bear is wide awake and when she is napping I have too much to do. She's still too young to understand that the floor is wet and to not walk there so I tend to clean while she is napping.

I think this is it for me. I need to make breakfast for the two of us, get her cloth diapers out of the washer and outside to dry and get us both dressed and ready to go down to the clinic for her appointment.
