I went again to the Waterloo Cancer Center. That's Monday I went for the Look Good Feel Good Seminar which was a lot of fun.
Tuesday I went to meet the Radiologist and discuss my plan of action. What a difference it made from Iowa City to Waterloo. I'm ready now.
My new Dr. is a woman and I'm a woman so I like that. I communicated with her a lot better. She acts like she wants to listen to me. I like that. She said she would evaluate me tomorrow on the cat scan and she would decide whether I would start with a five week start of treatments of seven week start of treatments and she explained why. I liked that.
So, I was worried about the cat scan. It was easy peasy! Then she tattooed 4 freckles on my tummy to use as goal areas for the radiation. I didn't know I would get tattoos but now I'm part of the tattoo generation. Of course, they are only 4 black dots that look like freckles but I got the tattoos and now I'm ready to go.
I met the physicist and the rest of that team yesterday and they put me on that table to make sure they could find my dots. I was able to do that too. The nurse helped me schedule rides to my sessions.
Then I found out they have a wellness director who is also a woman but her name is Timmie. She's very tall with long red hair. I'm looking forward to having a session with her. The fitness room has one of my favorite pieces of equipment, a nu step. I hope I get to use it soon.
Well, that's it for now. I wanted to get a blog in early. I'm taking Rosie to the airport for her trip to Florida. She'll be gone for 10 days. But, I'm driving her there with her car so she won't have to park it at the lot which is $10.00 per day. When I get back the janitor is going to park it for me and then I'm giving him the keys to keep her car. I don't want to be responsible for someone's car since I have not driven for years and the price of gas is so high.
Have a great day everybody. It's only6:15 a.m. and I'm already heading out the door. I start radiation on Monday April 15, 2012. I'm excited to start.
