Gratitude

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

For my LIME team one of our challenges this week is to spend some time in meditation reflecting on our blessings. Every day when I did this I thought about my SP friend KathyJo who blogs daily about her blessings. She finds positives in EVERYTHING! and it truly inspires me.
I have spent the morning crying. so it is both a good and a bad time to be writing this blog. My family situation grows ever more stressful.
But I am grateful for our family therapist - she gives me hope that things can get better, even though it looks so hopeless.
I am grateful for my grandson, who brings joy into my life - he is worth all of the stress.
I am grateful for my two sons who bring encouragement and stability to my life.

I am most grateful for my dear husband and his love and support.
I am grateful for Jesus. WIthout His love and presence in my life I would truly be lost.
I am grateful for the support and caring of all of my SP friends who stick with me, encouraging me, leaving me goodies and comments, who understand when I am not doing well but love me anyway.
These are the things I reflect on when things look so bleak to keep me going. Thank you to the LIMES for making me do this challenge. I needed it! emoticon emoticon

I hope things improve for you very soon, Ruthie. You have come a very long way in your journey, and the support and love you share with others is a blessing. This challenge will help you to focus on the positive in your life which then will allow more of it to flow to you. emoticon emoticon

Thank you so much of adding me as a friend, then to find out you have lost 100# -- that thrills me even more. I love following in the footsteps of winners! I'm 50# behind you!! and "comin' along!'

Sorry about your family stress -- I kind of understand stress - my daughter won't have anything to do with my son since he divorced and remarried, so I boycotted them both for Easter and stayed by myself, ate my usual salad and didn't have the stress of my frustration! I also am staying away from my GS graduation because his mom treated me badly in the past and another encounter would be more of the same - and travel from VA to CA is expensive. He'll get the money instead!

For Easter, I went to early church, it was wonderful. Anymore I'm not a "celebrate" Easter kind of person, to me it such a holy (I use the word somber, although that isn't appropriate because it is joyous) time that I really loved being alone. I actually listened to church a second time on the computer so that was wonderful - I got to worship twice. woo-hoo.

PS, I have sleep apnea, too and wear a CPAP every night - feel so much better than before!

thank you for adding me as your friend. Anything I can do to be supportive, let us know...

Have a Vünderful Day - as they say in Minnesota (where I'm from-but now in VA)
Lois

I don't know what's stressing you but for me, the gratitude journal is one way I keep my wits about me under times of stress. And believe me, with teens in the house, that's CONSTANT! Well, DS is now int he Army, so that is not an in-your-face daily stress, but a whole 'nother level of stress. DD -- she's a typical 16 yr. old teen age princess, primadonna, diva, drama queen, uberboss. LOVE them both with all my heart and soul. But they can stress.

So, reading my gratitude journal helps put that smile on my face so I can "fake it till I feel it."

I read KahyJo's blog too. Uplifting and keeps ME in the habit of adding to my gratitude journal.

HUGS!
