So, my usual plan for house keeping whenever I have an entire day off during the week is to do laundry & shopping & cleaning. Not actually a plan...more of a dream. I start out strong, and fizzle out before noon. At the end of the day, not much is completed.
So, today will be different.
I will complete one babystep, then another and another. I will take breaks and stop when I feel overwhelmed. Hopefully, by stringing them all together, I will see a difference.
Then, I will step back and be content with what I have accomplished and not beat myself up over what I didn't get to.
I'll let you know how it goes :-)
9:30 am
Dressed
Dog-do scooped
Quilt & sheets washed & hung out on the line
Plants watered
End table* cleared, dusted & only what belongs there (lamp, remotes, coasters) replaced.
*this is my "Oasis of Order". When my end table is clutter-free, I feel less stressed & more likely to keep other problem areas of my home de-cluttered.
RSVP'd to a baby shower (invitation was buried on said end table)
11:00
Collected trash throughout the house & taken to the dumpster
Cleaned bedroom ceiling fan
Moved part of LR furniture, vacuumed under it & moved it back
Made up the bed w/clean sheets & quilt
Breaking until after lunch
2:00
Slowing down some...
Hung another load of laundry on the line
Removed stick on numbers from an address sign for the lake house. DH will sand it down & re-paint it on Saturday.
Shortened new pillow cases (we have a king bed, but prefer standard pillows - the sets always include king pillow cases)
Taking a break for a glass of water & a half hour of HGTV
Called my Mom - now my heart is smiling
Late afternoon
Grocery shopping
Finished!
No, the house isn't tidy and dinner wasn't anything to write home about, but I got a lot done
