Update on Day 1 of blogging and more!

Well its the end of day 1 when it comes to utilizing Spark People and I have to say that it has been very successful. I used the nutritional tracker for the first time today and at first I thought it would be scary and hard to use but I got the hang of it pretty fast and its so easy now I know I will be utilizing it on a daily basis. The other thing that I love about it is that even for only this first day, I'm keeping an eye on what I put into my mouth and its making me that much more accountable as to what I consume ~ amazing what being held accountable does! I also began the 4-week sugar detox challenge and while today I did cheat a little bit, because I'm more conscious about the fact that I am putting sugar into my body I didn't eat as much today as I would have before. Now mind you it doesn't help that there are Easter chocolates that my parents got me sitting on my night stand only a few feet from my bed, but somehow I managed to keep my nibbling to a minimum. Its gonna take awhile to get used to these changes but as I've said before, its all about baby steps!

    Thank you both! I'm very proud of my first day and while I know that it's been only a day so far, I've already really been impressed at how blogging and keeping track of my food is keeping me accountable. I know its not going to be easy, weight loss never is, but I am confident that if I keep this up that I will be successful in my goal of losing weight and becoming a healthier person :)

    You are right about it being baby steps. I am losing only about half a pound each week...but in the last year that's added up to 30 lbs! Blogging and tracking has made all the difference, as it let's me see how those baby steps are adding up! So keep at it - you're off to a great start!

    Isn't this a great site. I use the nutrition and fitness trackers everyday. I have been a Sparker since June of last year and the site is so user friendly. The people on this site are so nice too. We all slip occasionally. The trick is to get back on the SparkWagon. Babysteps are a good idea. Increase each day and soon it becomes a habit. Great job on keeping the nibbling to a minimum. You are on your way!! emoticon
