Place to donate your wedding dress

Monday, April 09, 2012

This is the organization to which I donated my wedding dress:

bridesagainstbreastcance
r.org/

They're a national organization - they sell wedding dresses all over the country, and use the funds to provide support and services to people with breast cancer.

Totally worthwhile, meaningful, and a special way to do something good with used wedding dresses. Because most of us will never wear that dress again.

And I know how hard it is to give away the dress - but it really is something to consider.

Hey now, that's what I should do!! Because I was already heavy when I bought my wedding dress (at a prom store), and when I get to goal weight, I will need to buy a new dress for the 20th anniversary or 25th or whichever anniversary it is when I'm at goal weight... It does have a certain "Cinderella" look to it!!

That is a great cause! I'm definitely passing this on to my girlfriends that are getting married!

Great info to have. I didn't donate my wedding dress, I wanted to keep it in my life so I had it dyed and altered from wedding dress to a 'special night' outfit and a new age ball dress when I attach the altered train. It's good to know there are places out there for anyone not looking to keep their dress.

It was rough, but I feel good knowing some good will come from my sending it off.

Thanks for the post. We have a site here that collects wedding dresses for young Soldiers, another good way to recycle.
