PESACH IN THE WILDERNESS

Sunday, April 08, 2012

Living in the Desert makes me aware of the Miracles that the Almighty One performed for the sake of His People. We had invited a new family to join us and were disappointed to find that they had nor arrived by sunset. (turns out that he was suffering from a sinus attack and also couldn't call us because of lack of coverage.) The lamb we grilled was wonderful, the horseradish reminded us of the bitterness of slavery, and the figs I stewed reminded us the the sweetness of salvation. (The pickled beets were sweet and sour so covered it all)
My beloved and I read from Exodus and recited the Haggadah.
The benefit of the Passover celebration is that it encourages us to clean house, literally and physically. Therefore, we cleared the room that has been serving as storage. WOW! There is a floor. We added an extra layer of plywood to the floor, set up our folding tables and chairs, and we were prepared for eight. But we had a lovely Seder, just the two of us, but we knew the Lord was present as well, so there were THREE.

    Your day sounds perfect, Tee!

I did a Precept Upon Precept study on the Book of Exodus. I tend to learn more easily from the way PUP studies urge one to study what the Word of God has to say about itself. If done right a PUP study ends leading one in digging deep &, thus, gleaning so much more than other studies or simply reading the Scriptures. If y'all ever have the opportunity to take such a study, I certainly do encourage your doing so. I did my first PUP study some many years ago at Mt. Franklin Baptist there in El Paso & I remember that at that time St. Marks Methodist (on Love Street) also offered PUP studies - I assume that they still do so.

Be blessed with success!

There are no such things as accidents,, your friends were meant to be at their home, you in yours with only your love.
DD and I are alone also,, I have blueberry flax muffins in the oven and dinner will go in soon. I went to Mass this morning and love the day and promise HE gave us.
