Me? A Barista? Whoo Hoo!

It's like one of my dream jobs! A bucket list fulfillment! I get the opportunity to make people jump and jive with coffee or a smoothie or an italian soda or a latte, etc. etc.
Our church has a cool little coffee shop that sadly had been closed for the past year. A friend of mine was able to purchase it and do some major changes to the decor and such. I've always thought it would be fun to work part time in a coffee shop. It fits me in many different areas. But with a varied weekly schedule/activities and needing to be flexible for my mom who has dementia/alzheimers, my choices in part time work are limited. Also, my exercise time is pretty important as well. (aren't you happy to hear that sparkfriends?) : )
I offered to help my friend with the lettering that is needed for the menu boards this week and that always is a fun, creative outlet for me. Being artistic with lettering is a true joy for me. I knew that Sara was looking to hire baristas , but didn't want to take advantage of our friendship by asking if there was still an opening available to apply for. But; what the heck! Doesn't hurt to ask!
So I did. She did. I applied. I had a partial training this week; and I'm hired! Ya Hoo! I am so excited to start this new adventure! It will be great fun and Sara's vision is one I share. She really wants it to be a place where people connect with one another and a place where the Lord is glorified. I'm all about that. And, the name of the coffee shop is "Connect"
Oh. and to have a good cup of coffee!!
